AI Agent Consultant

As an AI agent consultant, I help service businesses build autonomous AI agents that work independently in your core business processes. Not a chatbot bolted onto your website. Not a one-off experiment. The kind of agentic AI consulting that puts an intelligent system to work solving actual problems: an agent that continuously qualifies your inbound leads, a system that analyses customer feedback and surfaces trends your team should know about, an autonomous workflow that monitors your project delivery and flags risks before they become crises.

Most of my AI agent consulting work is with service businesses doing between £500k and £10m a year. The ones already running solid operations who see where autonomous AI agents could handle complexity that currently ties up senior people.

AI Agent Consultant

What AI agent consulting actually is

The difference between workflow automation and agentic AI consulting comes down to independence. Workflow automation adds an AI step to something a human starts. AI agent consulting builds a system that runs on its own, makes decisions based on context, and takes action without a human in the loop.

That means the work is harder. You can’t just plug an AI model into your CRM and call it done. You need to think through how the agent learns, what it should do when it hits uncertainty, how it knows when to escalate to a human, and how your team verifies it’s working correctly.

As your AI agent consultant I focus on three core areas.

Agent design and decision-making

I work out what decision-making your agent needs to do, what information it needs to make good decisions, and what the failure modes are. A lead qualification agent needs to know your ideal customer profile, the quality bar for a conversation starter, and when to pass a lead to a human instead of automating the intro. A risk-detection agent on your delivery projects needs to understand project health metrics, what constitutes a red flag, and whether a flag is “tell the PM immediately” or “mention it in the weekly sync”.

Agent architecture and integration

I design how your agent connects to your data (CRM, project tool, knowledge base, external APIs), which AI model does the thinking, and how the output gets back into the systems your team actually uses. That might mean an AI agent running on a scheduled cadence pulling data from your systems, reasoning through it, and writing back what it learned. Or it might mean an event-based agent that reacts in real time when something happens in your workflow.

Agent tuning and handover

An agent nobody trusts gets disabled within a month. I run live training so your team understands what the agent is doing and why, I document the decision logic so it’s not a black box, and I set up a feedback loop so the agent improves as it learns from real decisions your team actually makes.

Who this is for

An AI Agent Consultant is the right fit if you’re:

– A service business owner with a team of at least 5 people, running consistent processes
– Already comfortable with AI tooling and ready to go beyond simple automation
– Running into bottlenecks where a person is doing high-context decision-making that could be partially automated
– Looking for someone who’ll engineer for accuracy and security, not just ship something flashy

If you want a generic AI strategy presentation or an AI agent that sounds impressive in a demo but fails in production, that’s not what I do.

How I work with you

A simple four-step process. No surprises and no long tie-ins.

1. Free consultation. A 30-minute conversation about where autonomous AI agents would actually move the needle. If an agent isn’t a fit yet, I’ll tell you why and suggest what would work better.

2.Agent design and planning.I map out the agent’s decision logic, what data it needs, how it connects to your systems, and what happens when it’s uncertain. You sign off the design before any building starts.

3.Build and deployment.I build the agent in your stack, run training with your team on how it works and what to do when something feels off, then run a two-week bedding-in period where I tune anything your team flags.

AI agents and your Business Operating System

AI agents work best when they’re built around your core processes, not as an afterthought.

An agent that qualifies leads doesn’t just live in isolation. It connects to your sales pipeline layer, pulls the criteria that define a qualified prospect, and feeds leads straight into your CRM. An agent that analyses delivery risk sits inside your delivery layer, pulling project data, comparing it to your benchmarks, and flagging issues before they become problems. That’s the difference between an agent you’ll actually use and one that generates busywork.

Read What is a Business Operating System to understand the framework, or if you’re already familiar with how AI automation consulting works, you’ll see that agentic AI consulting is the next level: moving from adding AI steps to workflows you control to building systems that control their own workflows.

AI Agent Consulting FAQs

What is AI automation consulting?

I help service businesses wire AI into the workflows they already run. That usually means an automation tool calling an AI model with the right context from your CRM, project tool, or knowledge base, then putting the output back where your team works. The aim is to take real work off your team’s plate, not to add another tool they have to log into.

How do I know if an AI automation consultant is right for me?

The simplest way is to take the free 30-minute discovery call and walk through one workflow you’d love to be running differently. By the end of the call you’ll know whether AI is realistic for it today and roughly what a build would look like. Click here to book a call.

Do you offer ongoing AI support?
Yes. Many clients move onto a light retainer once their first AI workflows are live. That covers tuning when model behaviour changes, swapping in better models when they appear, and building the next workflow when the team is ready.
Do you only work with established companies?
I work mainly with service businesses doing between £500k and £10m a year. Coaches, agencies, consultancies, training companies, and professional services. The common thread is teams who have a real workflow worth automating, not teams looking for a flashy AI demo.
How long does an AI workflow take to build?

A first AI workflow usually goes live in two to three weeks. A multi-workflow programme runs six to ten weeks. The variables are:

  • How many workflows are in scope
  • How clean the inputs are today
  • How many integrations are needed
  • How sensitive the data is
  • The availability of you and your team
Do you work with businesses outside your time zone?
Yes. I work with clients globally from London, Phnom Penh, Prague, and Rarotonga.
My consulting is designed for remote collaboration, with flexible meeting times and asynchronous communication when needed.
We've already tried AI and it didn't work. What's different here?

Most failed AI pilots fail at the workflow level, not the model level. The model was usually fine. What was missing was the integration, the right context being passed in, or a fallback for when the AI got it wrong. The work I do as an AI Agent Consultant, is mostly that engineering, not the model itself, which is why these workflows tend to stick.

Can AI Agents integrate with our existing CRM and project tools?

Yes. I build AI workflows on top of the tools you already use, including:

  • Pipedrive, HubSpot, and other CRMs
  • Notion, Asana, Airtable, and other project tools
  • Google Workspace and Microsoft 365
  • Make, Zapier, and n8n as the automation glue

The AI step plugs into what’s already there, not the other way round.

Ready to put AI Agents to work?

Most service businesses don’t need another tool in their stack. They need an intelligent agent quietly running in the background, handling the complex decisions a team member used to make manually, freeing up that person to do the work only they can do.

Why “AI my business” is a red flag

Why “AI my business” is a red flag

A business owner in the US once asked me to “AI my business”. I turned the work down. Not because I am against AI. I build AI and automation systems for businesses. I use AI in my own work, I help clients find practical automation opportunities, and I think the right AI setup can save a business a serious amount of time. But “AI my business” is not a brief. It is a red flag.

Does Claude work with Notion and do they play nicely together ?

Does Claude work with Notion and do they play nicely together ?

I use Notion as the operating system for my business. Everything lives there: client projects, task lists, content pipelines, SOPs, revenue tracking. So when I started experimenting with AI agents, the obvious question was: can Claude plug into this system and actually do useful work?

Why I’m building a one-person business

Why I’m building a one-person business

I used to think “the goal” was building something big. A big team. A big office. A big brand. I also used to think that if I did not keep expanding, I was somehow going backwards. Then I remembered something I learned the hard way. In the 90’s and 00’s I managed around 250 people.
